Mural materials (above):
Students will be handed multiple zoo books and be asked to think about their spirit animal or make an animal combination up. They will be asked to reflect deeply since they will need to draw the animal for the mural and write about why they feel like they are similar to this animal.
Students will get a canvas after they run their rough draft on paper past the art teacher and me. Then, they will get art materials to make their mural piece.

Capitalism brown bag game materials:
brown paper bag for each kid with a different number of tokens.
1/2 of the bags will have 5 tokens to start off. 1/4 of the bags will have more than 5 tokens, with one bag having 30 tokens (multi-millionaire) 1/4 of the bags will have fewer than 5 tokens, with 2 bags having under two tokens. Students can earn more tokens by completing a math worksheet on their own and raising their hand after each 5 problems to collect more money (2 tokens for each 5 math problems). After the worksheet time (I will give 12 total minutes on a timer) is complete, I will come take 2 tokens away for tax reasons. Then, the students will count up their tokens. The people with the most tokens are the winners. We will have a class discussion about why/ why not this system is fair afterwards. I will award each student who participated in the game one small candy so everyone will walk away with something.
