Question options:
1. To what extent can we learn about ourselves when we study other cultures?
2. How is the culture we live in similar and different from the culture you became an expert on for our big culture project? Write 5 similarities and 5 differences and expand on your ideas.
* I find this to be a fitting way to assess my students for this social studies unit. I do not feel comfortable giving a test as an assessment, since this is more of a discussion, project, and writing based unit where we reflect through words, images, and art about diversity, different economies, cultures, and unity.
Summative Assessment #2:
Culture Presentation: students will get up in front of the class and present for 10-20 minutes in a well-thought out, rehearsed, researched presentation.
